Marie Morkved, Wells Task Force Reservoir and Wells Optimisation Group Lead and NNS Production Optimisation Manager, TotalEnergies

Marie has a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Trondheim Norway, and a MSc Petroleum Engineering at Imperial College UK.

She started out as a field engineer with Sclumberger worked up to Sr. coiled tubing instructor. Then about 10 years as a petroleum engineer mainly with BP (Azerbaijan & Egypt). Moved over to Maersk in 2010 and stayed with them until TotalEnergies takeover in 2018.

Now leading a multi-disciplinary team working on production Optimisation in a mature asset for TotalEnergies. In addition to her Role, Marie sits on the Diversity and inclusion taskforce and is also an active mentor in the mentoring program at TotalEnergies.

Simon Roddy, Senior Vice President and Upstream Director, Shell U.K.

Simon leads the Shell UK Upstream business, a major operated business with a diverse workforce engaged in exploration, production, new investments, decommissioning and energy transition activities across the offshore North Sea and onshore gas processing. Simon is a Board member of the industry body Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) and a member of the North Sea Transition Forum. He also represents Shell on the Board of Shell’s ScotWind JVs with SPR.

He has had a varied background in technical and senior management roles working with Shell for over 25 years across UK, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Netherlands and Nigeria. He returned to the UK in 2021 after 3 years as Deputy Managing Director of SPDC, where he was responsible for the safe operational business of the largest oil and gas producer in Nigeria. Simon joined the Shell Group in 1993 as a Petroleum Engineer, and prior to joining SPDC he has held a variety of roles. More recent positions have included Vice President of Safety and Environment for Shell’s global Upstream business and Shell Upstream Vice President of Cost Leadership, focusing on Shell’s global response to the 2015-16 low oil price environment.

Simon has a degree in Physics from the University of Bristol, and a MBA from INSEAD.

Stuart Ferguson, Chief Executive, FrontRow Energy Technology Group Ltd

Stuart Ferguson is Chief Executive at FrontRow Energy Technology Group Ltd – a group of oilfield technology companies focused on driving cost reduction through innovative products and workflows.

Prior to the formation of FrontRow, Stuart was non-executive director of several international companies specialising in oilfield technology, ranging from large public corporations to small start-ups. Stuart’s portfolio included Aker Solutions ASA, Borets International Ltd, Peak Well Systems Pty Ltd, I-Pulse Inc, and Zi-Lift AS.

Until 2010, Stuart spent ten years at Weatherford International Ltd, a large oilfield services provider, with most of that time as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Before joining Weatherford, Stuart worked for several oilfield services and operating companies, having started his career as a petroleum engineer with BP in 1987.
