“After the 2015 downturn, the industry witnessed a sudden and vast reduction in the volume of drilling and workover operations globally. From this, we then observed a significant increase in both subsea and platform P&A operations. As such activity often involved accessing ageing well stock to P&A, this inherently brought with it a number of challenges and learnings on the most efficient, safe and economical way in which to plan and achieve the required objectives.”
Bronson commented: “With Wellvene forming in 2017 to offer bespoke and product based engineering solutions to the Intervention and Completion industry, we found a large proportion of our services, tooling and engineering was required to support customers P&A operations, whilst also providing urgent engineering and tool manufacture to address unplanned and urgent wellbore access requirements.”
“Over the course of 2017 - 2020 and having gained a broad understanding of the challenges faced by Operating Companies on how best to efficiently and safely complete stage 1 of P&A operations, Wellvene set out to offer our customers a complete P&A tool package that was specifically designed and proven to reduce operational time, cost and risk. This has been achieved by minimising operational runs in the well, responsively addressing unexpected wellbore access during ongoing operations and offering alternative methods for plugging & isolating both Production & Annulus bores.”
Established in 2017, Wellvene offers bespoke and product based engineering solutions to the Intervention and Completions industry.
